THE HARD EDGES OF YOUR SITE

Concrete sets the framework a parking lot lives inside. Curb holds the asphalt edge, gutter carries the water, approaches take the truck loads, ramps carry the accessible route, and pads absorb the heaviest concentrated weight on the property. American Asphalt has been self-performing that work on Arizona commercial sites for more than 30 years.

We build the full concrete package , curbs and sidewalks, ADA ramps and accessible access, dumpster pads, approaches, and slabs, and we can prep the site first with grading and excavation so grades and drainage are right before a single form goes in.

Why self-performed concrete

ONE CREW, CONCRETE & PAVEMENT

Most site failures happen at the seam between trades. Keeping concrete and asphalt under one self-performing contractor keeps grades, drainage, sequencing, and warranty in one place.

One contractor for concrete and asphalt

Most commercial sites need both. Self-performing concrete and paving under one contract removes the coordination gap where scopes, and warranties, usually fall apart.

Built for commercial loading

Dumpster pads, approaches, and truck aprons are designed for the vehicles that actually use them, with thickness and reinforcement matched to the load, not a residential default.

Drainage designed in, not fixed later

Grades, jointing, and flow lines are set before the pour so water leaves the site instead of pooling against curb, building slab, or adjacent asphalt.

ADA compliance handled correctly

Ramps, landings, and detectable warnings are built to current slope and cross-slope tolerances, a common inspection failure when concrete is subbed out to a general crew.

Phased around your operations

Retail, medical, and industrial sites stay open. We section the work so tenants, patients, deliveries, and refuse pickup keep functioning through the pour and cure.

Backed for two years

All concrete work carries a 2-year workmanship warranty from a family-owned Arizona contractor operating since 1993 under three ROC licenses.

How we deliver

COMPACT, FORM, POUR & CURE

Concrete fails from the ground up. Compaction, thickness, reinforcement, jointing, and curing decide whether a pour lasts twenty years or cracks in two Arizona summers. Every American Asphalt pour follows the same disciplined sequence, and the adjoining pavement is tied in with our asphalt paving crews so the two surfaces meet flush.

Field video from an American Asphalt project, the same in-house crews and equipment we run on every concrete and site construction contract.

  1. 01
    Step

    Survey, grades & scope

We take existing elevations, evaluate drainage and subgrade condition, confirm loading, and produce a written scope with thickness, reinforcement, and jointing detailed.

  2. 02
    Step

    Demo, excavate & compact

Sawcut clean edges, remove failed concrete, excavate to depth, then moisture-condition and compact the subgrade and aggregate base to the required density.

  3. 03
    Step

    Form, reinforce & pour

Forms set to grade and string, rebar or mesh placed on chairs at correct cover, then concrete placed, consolidated, screeded, and floated to the specified finish.

  4. 04
    Step

    Joint, cure & protect

Control joints cut on time to the correct depth, curing compound or wet cure applied, and the area barricaded until the concrete reaches opening strength.
