Alex Gutierrez is the owner of American Asphalt Paving and Sealcoating, Inc.
In the early 1980's, a paving company owner (who was formerly in business management in Silicon Valley) in the bay area of California made the decision to challenge his expertise in a new frontier; he moved to Phoenix, Arizona and began a paving company. He found himself attracted to the growing pains which Phoenix was experiencing through expansion and immigration from across the nation. He saw the rapidly developing market and just knew that he wanted to be part of it.
Then, in the early 1990's, Alex who, by that time had realized a 10-year run of considerable success as an asphalt contractor, was again bitten by the innovation bug. He sold his interest in his company and created a new corporation, American Asphalt Paving & Sealcoating, Inc.
American Asphalt Paving & Sealcoating, Inc. was born of Alex's desire to create an asphalt company which would embody an entirely new approach to the industry through asphalt maintenance services, combined with new construction. Through his years of experience in the industry and from the gems of knowledge he had gleaned along the way, Alex created a standard of quality, that is still his calling card. His new venture would realize a reputation for innovation and excellence in the marketplace.
And this reputation has, indeed, been realized! American Asphalt Paving & Sealcoating, Inc. has, in the past 15 years simultaneously maintained a local work schedule, completed major projects in Pensacola, Florida; Houston and Dallas, Texas; Indianapolis, Indiana; Kansas City and Springfield, Missouri; Biloxi, Mississippi and Albuquerque, New Mexico as well as throughout the state of Arizona.
Today, like a proud parent watching his child walk across the stage to receive the college diploma worked hard for , he drives across the yard at the end of the day and sees the long red, white and blue line of trucks parked in their designated spaces. And he smiles as he locks the gate, putting his dream to bed for the night.
